Sunday Pre-Game Quick Hits

  • Alfonso Soriano's MRI on his left knee Saturday showed no damage and Soriano is expected to get a cortisone shot, so he'll be out for a few games.
  • Aramis Ramirez is not expected to have shoulder surgery this offseason. He is fine!
  • The Twins are "balking" at the Cubs asking price for Harden. Paul Sullivan expects Harden to remain with the Cubs the rest of the year.
  • The Cubs and Giants are still in negotiations about Aaron Heilman. The Giants watched Heilman pitch 2 scoreless innings yesterday.
  • Jeff Baker, who was scratched yesterday because of a hand injury, had an X-ray and it came back negative. He should be available today.
  • Derrek Lee was named the recipient of the Heart and Hustle Award.

That's it for now, I'll keep you posted.

  1. Send Zambrano through waivers and see what picks him up and then TRADE HIM!

  2. Yeah, there's been talk of trading Z while they can still get something for him. When your ace pitches more like a #4 starter, your closer stinks, and your 4 of your 5 big hitters get in season long slumps, you usually don't make the postseason. This offseason will be a very interesting one, I'm looking forward to blogging on it.

  3. FINALLY!!!! Somebody around understands!!!! They need to trade Carlos while they can get somebody for him! I would love to see Harden as a closer but he wont do it and he would still want SP money! I am sold on the Cubs trying to get Carl Crawford!
