Congratulations to the Tennessee Smokies and Peoria Chiefs, the 2 Cub affiliates that are in the postseason! The Chiefs lost the first of a 3 game series against Cedar Rapids last night and then with last night's heartbreaking 9-8 loss, their season came to an end. Top performers last night include Jovan Rosa, who was 4-5 with 4 RBIs, Rebel Ridling was 3-5, and LeMahieu and Brenly picked up a couple of hits each. CR scored 2 in the 9th to win it last night.
The Smokies started their postseason last night and lost game 1 of a 5 game series with Huntsville by a score of 4-2. Ty Colvin went 1-3 with a solo homer. I will keep you posted as that series moves along.
The AAA Iowa Cubs finished their season right at .500 with a 72-72 mark. The ended up in 3rd place, 5 back of Memphis. Nate Spears led the team in batting average with a .253. Jake Fox led the team in homers and RBIs despite spending most of the regular year with the Chicago Cubs.
Later today I will post the Former Cub Updates!
