With all my other writings on the Cubs system, I haven't had much of a chance to update this site on Cubs prospects yet this season. Now that the present isn't looking so great, it's a perfect time to look to the future! If you are not aware yet, I tweet about the Cubs minor league system. Go to www.twitter.com/cubsfarmupdates. - The Tennessee Smokies send nine guys to the Southern League All-Star game on July 12. Blake Lalli, Tony Campana, and Robinson Chirinos are all in the starting lineup. That's it for now, but I'll keep you posted on Everything Cubs as always.

Sandberg to Manage Iowa Cubs
Ryne Sandberg is going to manage the AAA Iowa Cubs in 2010. Sandberg will move a step closer to the big leagues, after 1 year in AA Tennessee. Before he joined the Smokies, Sandberg started his managerial career with Class A Peoria. Ryne could move up a level after 2010 once again if Lou Piniella doesn't return as Cubs manager.
The Cubs legend is now just one step away from the big leagues. He led the Smokies to the Southern League championship in 2009.

Much more to come...
