Ryne Sandberg is going to manage the AAA Iowa Cubs in 2010. Sandberg will move a step closer to the big leagues, after 1 year in AA Tennessee. Before he joined the Smokies, Sandberg started his managerial career with Class A Peoria. Ryne could move up a level after 2010 once again if Lou Piniella doesn't return as Cubs manager.
The Cubs legend is now just one step away from the big leagues. He led the Smokies to the Southern League championship in 2009.
