Cubs Drop 5th Straight

Final Score: Brewers 2, Cubs 0

Cubs Starting Line-up Stats:
Soriano: 1-4
Fuld: 0-4
Ramirez: 1-3
Hoffpauir: 0-3
Fontenot: 0-4
R. Johnson: 1-3
M. Johnson: 1-3
Zambrano: 1-1

So not much hitting from the Cubs today. Soriano is now batting just .167 this Spring, but it's nothing to worry about.

Cubs Pitchers:
Zambrano: 3 IP, 4 H, 5 K, 2 ER, Loss
Guzman: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER
Wadell: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 ER
Patton: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3 K
Mathes: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 0 ER

Zambrano was a little shaky, but the bullpen pitched great today. Guzman, Patton, and Waddell are all fighting for a spot on the team and they all did very well.

Cubs off the Bench:
Scales: 0-1
Rivas: 0-1
Snyder: BB
Bako: 0-1
Taguchi: 1-1 (Corrected)
J. Fox: 0-1

Not a lot of bench players used today, it was good to see guys like Soriano, Ramirez, Fontenot, and Reed getting 3-4 ABs.

Game Highlight: Carlos Zambrano made a bad throw to first on a ground ball down the 3rd base line and 2 runs scored. Those 2 runs were the difference in the game.

My Player of the Game: David Patton for pitching 2 innings and not allowing any base runners.

Up Next: VS TEX tomorrow at 3:05 CT. Sean Marshall will pitch for the Cubs.

Don't forget to set forward your clocks tonight for the time change. We're springing ahead! Bring on some baseball! The Cubs games will now start at 3:05 Central Time, because the time does not change in Arizona, so Chicago will now be 2 hours behind.

Cubs Chat this week on Wednesday. Send in your questions to me all day long. I'll be on line with the answers live at 7:00 PM CT. You can send in the questions easily on the blog main page on Wednesday anytime during the day, and then check back later to see your questions answered.

I'll have a recap of tomorrow game and a WBC Update for you tomorrow.
