  • The Cubs lost to the Angels on Saturday by a score of 6-4. Aaron Heilman gave up 1 run, 5 hits, and a walk in 2 innings. Carlos Marmol have up a hit, hit 2 batters (not good) and got 2 K's in a scoreless innings of work. Kevin Gregg also put a zero on the board.

Patton, Berg, Waddell, Kadokura, Hart, and Stevens all pitch well in relief. Hoffpauir, Fontenot, and Castillo all went deep in the win. Taguchi and Snyder both had good games off the bench.

  • Carlos Marmol said, "I don't care. I'm glad to be on the team."
  • Lou is not ready to make the decision on the closer.
  • Corey Koskie has passed a physical and began to work out with the Cubs on Saturday.
  • Piniella like Aaron Heilman pitching in the 7th inning. It seems like he's hinting that Marshall will win the spot in the rotation.
  • Judd Sirrott did 3 innings of play-by-play on Saturday on WGN Radio with Ron Santo. It looks like he will replace Corey Provus as the pre-game show host/ 5th inning play-by-play guy. Sirrott will be on the broadcast again tomorrow.
  • Kosuke Fukudome has been told that he will hit second for the Cubs on Opening Day.
  • Bruce Miles reports that Kevin Gregg clearly has the inside track at getting the closer's job.
  • Miles also says that Angel Guzman is in jeopardy of being traded.
  • Jeff Samardzija will start against the Brewers tomorrow. The game is on WGN Radio.
  • Big Z will start on Tuesday.
