Harden Allows 8 Runs in Loss

Final Score: Yankees 10, Cubs 1

Cubs Starting Lineup Hitting:
Soriano: 3-4, RBI, Run
Theriot: 1-3
Lee: 1-3
Bradley: 1-3
Ramirez: 0-4
R. Johnson: 1-4
Kosuke: 0-3
Hill: 0-1, 2 BB
Miles: 0-2

Kosuke hit just .200 in the Cactus League. Theriot finished the spring with a .412 average. Lee hit .322 and Soriano hit .325. Milton Bradey had a .460 average in a great Spring Training with his new team. Alfonso has hit very well at the end of the spring.

Cubs Pitchers:
Harden: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 8 Runs (7 ER), 4 BB, 3 HRs allowed, 2 Ks
Marmol: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER
Patton: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 0 ER
Guzman: 1 IP, 1 K, 0 H, 0 ER
Vizcaino: 3 H, 2 ER
Samardzija: 0.2 IP, 1 K, 0 ER

Harden has not looked good this spring, he finishes with a 10.38 ERA. 4 walks and 3 HRs today not something you want to see. All of our starters have stuggled a little at the end of this long camp. Lilly gave up a lot of long balls yesterday and Sunday against the Indians. Marshall struggled in his last few Cactus League outings also, and Demp has not had all that great of a spring.
Moving on to the other guys that pitched today, Vizcaio was not very impressive. His ERA is over 6 for the spring, and I'm not very confident with him as our 6th/7th inning guy. Samardzija had a good outing today retiring both men he faced. Gaudin and Guzman both pitched well which is good. Let's hope some big league teams were watching Chad today, so the Cubs can work out a trade.

Cubs Bench:
Blanco: 0-1
Hoffpauir: 1-1
Snyder: 0-1
Gathright: 0-1
Scales: 0-1

Game Highlight: Yankees hit 3 bombs off Harden including a 3-run homer by Jeter in the 3rd.

My Player of the Game: Soriano who had 3 hits, including a solo homer that accounted for the only Cub run of the day. Sori also had a nice outfield assist to gun down a guy at the plate.

Up Next: Cubs have an off day tomorrow and then open the 2009 regualar season in Houston on Monday night at 6 PM CT.
