- The Cubs bats were quiet all night long.
- They just ran into a well-oiled machine in Johnny Cueto.
- Ted Lilly pitched a gem, and you hate to waste that.
- Theodore went 7 innings and gave up just one run, not earned.
- Milton Bradley made his return to the Cubs lineup, and went 0-4 with 3 Ks.
- Angel Guzman and Kevin Gregg allowed the Reds to increase the lead late in the game, giving up a run each in the 8th and 9th.
- Overall just a very boring loss, so I didn't write out a longer recap.
- The wind was blowing in on this cold spring night, and it brought most of the balls that would have been over the fence back.
- The only home run was Jay Bruce against Gregg in the 9th.
Game Highlight: Ted Lilly made an error on a bunt by Willy Taveras and that led to only run he would allow.
My Player of the Game: Only one choice tonight, it's gotta be Ted Lilly.
Up Next: Cubs and Reds, the rubber match of this 3 game series tomorrow afternoon at 1:20 CT. Carlos Zambrano will face Aaron Harang in the final game of this long opening home stand for the Chicago Cubs.
We'll try again tomorrow!
