The Cubs have lost 3 games in a row to seal their fate, so it's time to start looking to the off season. Today let's take a look at a few Cubs notes:
  • Mark DeRosa is open to the possibility of returning to the Chicago Cubs when he becomes a free agent this off-season. DeRosa told Gordon Wittenmyer that his allegiance lies in St. Louis, but once the season is over he'll have no hard feelings towards anyone in Chicago. He then restated that he enjoyed his time on the North Side.
  • Milton Bradley was still out of the lineup on Friday because of knee inflammation.
  • The Cubs might consider adding another outfield from AA Tennessee.
  • Angel Guzman tried to throw the other day but had to stop after 12 pitches according to Gordon Wittenmyer. He could be done for the season.
  • Lou and the Cubs are hoping to play good baseball the final 17 games.
  • Paul Hagan thinks that the Cubs signing Alfonso Soriano is 2006, ended up helping the Phillies win the World Series.
  • Rob from Goat Rider of the Apocalypse points out the trading Zambrano for a fraction of his worth is not on the ultimate path to victory.
  • The Tennessee Smokies won last night 5-4 on a walk off single by Starlin Castro. Tonight they have a chance to even the Southern League Championship season when they host Jacksonville at 6:15. Andrew Cahsner will start for the Smokies.
  • The Cubs have talked to John Grabow about a contract extension.

That's it for now, for the next two weeks will begin to transition our focus to the off season ahead.
