- The Cubs are keeping an eye on Pedro Martinez. Martinez recently threw a side session for the Rays and it appears that the Cubs are also scouting the free agent, 37 year old pitcher.
- Peavy is out for 3 months with an ankle injury. Thank goodness that this will hopefully finally end the Peavy to Chicago rumors.
- The Cubs drafted Joey Jockety, the son of Reds GM Walt Jockety.
- Gordon Wittenmyer says Milton Bradley is a $30 million elephant in the room. Not only has he been struggling so much at the plate, he's also having trouble in the outfield as of late.
- Steve Rosenbloom doesn't feel that Pedro is the answer for the Cubs. (I agree the Cubs need to start scoring some runs, the pitching is fine.)
- When the Cubs activated Rich Harden off the DL, they Bobby Scales to AAA. So now a offense that cannot score hardly any runs is short one bat because the Cubs are carrying 13 pitchers!
- Ryan Freel is beginning a rehab start with AAA Iowa tomorrow.
- This Old Cub, a movie about Ron Santo, will be on the MLB Network tonight at 9 CT.
We're only 3.5 games back, but there's 3 teams ahead of us. Let's go turn in around and end this 4 game skid!
