Cubbie Birthdays:

Dave LaRoche (61)

Dick Tidrow (62)

This date in Cubs history:

2000- Although Sammy Sosa gets five hits, Henry Rodriquez drives in seven runs and Eric Young steals five bases, the Cubs still manage to lose to the Expos, 16-15. Young's accomplishment on the bases is the most by a Cubs player since 1881 when George Gore stole seven bases.

1968- Dodger P Don Drysdale shuts out the Cubs‚ 1-0. It is the 5th game in a row that the Dodgers have scored but one run‚ tying a ML record held by 4 other teams. LA will score 3 tomorrow in a loss to the Cubs.

Thanks to this site, and a few others for Cubs History as always.

Randy Wells will make his second start in place of Zambrano tomorrow against the Reds in game 1 of a 3 game weekend series at the Friendly Confines. First pitch at 1:20 in the afternoon.

"I don't care who wins as long as it's the Cubs!"
