Rain, Rain Go Away

Right now the Cubs and Padres are on a Rain Delay, but the first pitch it scheduled for 7:40 CT.

For now...
Cubbie Birthdays:
Terry Hughes (60)
Lou Stringer (92)

This Date in Cubs History:
1969- In the Cubs' 19–0 rout of the Padres, first baseman Ernie Banks drives in seven runs on two three-run homers and a double. Dick Selma allows just three hits giving Chicago their third shutout in a row, following consecutive no-run performances by Ferguson Jenkins and Ken Holtzman.

1982- Allen Ripley and Lee Smith combine to shut out Houston in Chicago's 5-0 victory at the Astrodome. The Cubs' win is their 8,000th victory in franchise history.

Let's hope they get the game in!
