Yesterday Kevin Hart was sent down, but for some reason the Cubs did not officially make the corresponding move to call up RHP Jeff Stevens right away. According to Cubs.com it is now official. Kevin Hart will be called back up and put in Dempster's spot in the rotation after the All Star Break. In the mean time, Hart will make one minor league start before the break. Stevens will wear #52.
Waddell Activated and Sent to AAA
LHP Jason Waddell has been activated off the 15-day DL for a non-baseball related medical issue and optioned to AAA Iowa. The lefty was in the Cubs bullpen for awhile before being sent to the DL to make room for Jake Fox on the 25 man roster.
Soto to the DL
This just in, Cubs catcher Geovany Soto has been placed on the 15 day DL with the oblique strain he suffered the other day in BP. Soto could be sidelined a month according to Cubs.com's Carrie Muskat. The Cubs have yet to announce a corresponding move, but they are looking outside of the organization to add a backup catcher. Not Good!

Paul Byrd
Another name on the Cubs radar, the Cubs need some relief pitching! Byrd is a free agent, the 38 year old sat the beginning of the 2009 season to spend more time with his family. He has mentioned that he would like to sign with a team close to his home in Georgia.
Big Series
The Cubs have a BIG series here is St. Louis leading up to the All Star break. If the Cubs sweep this series, they could be in first place (depending on what the Brewers do) going into the All Star Break. If they get swept in this series, they'll be 7.5 games back of the Cards. The goal: Take 3 out of 4!
