Minor Leauge Updates, Red-Hot Cubs, Rumors and the Deadline Nears, and More

The red-hot Cubs have won 4 in a row! Tonight they will go for the 5th straight in a 1 game makeup against the Atlanta Braves.
Here are some Cubs notes;
  • The Cubs are resting Milton Bradley and Alfonso Soriano tonight.
  • Gordon Edes says the Cubs are series about Pedro even though they don't like his demands.
  • Bruce Miles doesn't think Pedro to the Cubs is likely.
  • The Cubs may not be able to bring in a bat because of the ownership situation.
  • Click for an interesting ownership update.
  • Mark Cuban has no plans to bid on the Cubs.
  • The Cubs are one of the teams that Peter Gammons thinks need to make a move before the trade deadline.
  • Felipe Lopez is a name the Cubs could have interest in.
  • Jake Peavy and Erik Bedard probably won't be traded because of their injuries.

From now on, minor league updates will be posted daily on my Twitter Cubs Farm Updates.

I'll also continue to have minor league updates on all off days.
