Dempster, DeRosa, Hart, and More

Dempster Breaks Toe
Another Cubbie Occurrence, Ryan Dempster's toe got caught on the dugout Sunday, and he is now on the 15 day DL with a broken toe. Derrek Lee thought it looked funny and laughed at Ryan, not realizing it was seriously injured. Carrie Muskat reported on her blog today that Ryan's right foot is all purple from the bruise, there was still some blood under the nail of his big toe, and it's all swollen. Not good!

Z good on Short Rest
Carlos Zambrano took the mound in Dempster's place a day early yesterday, and he pitched very well. However, the Cubs hitters couldn't score and the boys in blue fell 2-1.

Kevin Hart to the Mound Today
Kevin Hart will make his first big league start today in the rubber match of a 3 game series with the Braves at Wrigley Field. In Hart's big league career he's 2-2 with a 4.47 ERA, all 33 of his appearances in relief. This year he's pitched in 4 games out of the pen with the Cubs and allowed just 1 run, but has walked 5. Kevin has started 6 games at AAA Iowa this year, he has a 3.10 ERA with the I-Cubs. Let's hope he has his good stuff today!

No Return of DeRosa
Mark DeRosa will not be coming back to Wrigley Field this weekend, at least if he does he won't be playing. De-Ro has been placed on the 15 day DL with a wrist injury.

That's it for now, more after the game!
