Updated: Info on Roster Moves, Rumors Heating Up, Freel Traded, and the Sale

Roster Moves Made!
Aramis Ramirez, Reed Johnson, and Angel Guzman have been activated! Ramirez is at Wrigley tonight! The corresponding moves: Sam Fuld and Kevin Hart to AAA, David Patton placed on 15-day DL with groin injury. So the Cubs will go with an 11 man pitching staff for the rest of the first half. I like this move, it keeps Hoffpauir, Fox, and Blanco all with the team. Sam Fuld hit .364 with a .462 OBP in 6 games with the Cubs.

Will Ramirez save this team??
Aramis Ramirez will be back in the lineup today! However, let's remember Cub fans, when someone comes back from an injury like Rami had, they're not going to hit right away. Even if it takes Aramis some time to start hitting, hopefully having him in the middle of our order will give all the other guys a boost! The Cubs have kept themselves afloat, now we need a hot streak!

Ryan Freel Traded
Ryan Freel, who was DFA'd to make room for Jeff Baker last week, has been traded to the KC Royals for a player to be named later and cash. Freel hit .143 with an RBI and 1 run scored as a Cub. He spent most of his short time with the Cubs on the DL.

Miles Next?
Aaron Miles is on the DL with an elbow injury right now. I think Miles has been given enough of a chance with the Cubs, he's another experiment failed. I'd rather let Andres Blanco stay with the team for the rest of the year as our backup infielder. Miles should be DFA'd, released, waived, or traded once he comes off the DL.

Cubs Sale Finally Almost Done?
According to the Chicago Tribune website, the Cubs may have reached a deal with the Rickets family. The sale price is close to $900 million to buy 25% of CSN, the team, and Wrigley Field.

Scott Downs, Mark Teahen, and Matt Herges
According to Hot Stove Cubbies the Cubs are interested in Scott Downs, a relief pitcher who has a 1.98 ERA so far this year. Downs is on the 15 Day DL with a sprained toe. He felt good in a bullpen session on Friday. We've heard all about Mark Teahen coming to the Windy City. The Cubs would like to see how Baker does before they trade for Teahen. They are also interested in Matt Herges who the Indians recently DFA'd.

DeRosa was close to coming to the Cubs?
Hot Stove Cubbies says that DeRosa was told he should be ready to come to the Cubs. A day later he was traded to STL.

Ron Santo
Ronny took a day off yesterday, but will be back in the WGN Radio booth today.

Should Lee have been an All Star?
Derrek said, "I don't feel I deserved it." D-Lee is hitting .285.

Kosuke in the lead off Spot
Kosuke has looked good in a few games as the Cubs lead off man so far. He's 3-8 hitting lead off. Will he stay in this new role, or will Soriano be moved back to first?

That's it for now, I'll keep you posted!
