Gorzelanny to Start Tuesday?

After the trade with the Pirates yesterday, the Cubs did nothing today before the 3 PM CT Trade Deadline. I like the team the Cubs have, it should be an interesting final 2 months. Tom Gorzelanny is expected to start for the Cubs on Tuesday against the Reds according to Bruce Miles and Carrie Muskat. Gorzelanny has been put on the AAA Iowa roster for now, but that will change soon. John Grabow is in uniform tonight and ready to pitch out of the Cubs pen. For more on that trade, click here.

The Cubs have made some Minor League Roster Moves:
  • Chris Carpenter, pitcher, has been promoted to AA Tennessee and will start for the Smokies tonight.
  • Cubs sent Jay Jackson down to Class A Daytona for disciplinary reasons. Jackson, a top prospect, was at AA.
  • CF Brett Jackson, who was the Cubs #1 pick in this June's draft, has been moved up to Class A Peoria. I'll get a chance to see him and the rest of the Chiefs play tomorrow in South Bend.

That's it for now, I'll keep you posted!
